Idaho let-off rules

I am heading to Idaho for deer and elk during the general season this year. I thought about taking the bow and giving that a shot at first if there is planty of game around. I just read in the regs though that a bow cannot exceed 65% let off. That's a bummer as I don't feel like modifying the bow, I think mine is set at 75% right now. They also require 400 grain arrows which is fine as I shoot 465. And no mechanicals either. Just posting it up incase someone is planning to go and doesn't know these items.

Yup. Idaho needs to get with the times IMO. They seem to still think arrows should weigh 600 grains and 210 fps is fast.

Yeah I just got back from there and that 65% let off thing may have made me make a not so great shot at a antelope. I am sure they have there reasons but It is a bit different.

I never thought it would be possible but Oregon finally changed their rules and aalow virtually any let-off bow. Oregon is usually the last to ever change their regs so maybe Idaho will get with the program. Writ letters, get your friends to write letters, get your wife to write a letter. it helps. Everyone I know did that to get the Oregon regs changed and it took 2 years and it changed this year.

Ever tried to buy a new bow that has a 65% let-off option. It ain't easy these days. Lucky for me my Renegade is as simple as changing a module on the single cam. I changed it to 80% this year
