Illinois Outdoor News Publishes First Issue

Illinois Outdoor News has published its premiere issue and the bi-weekly publication will begin in January 2008.
Illinois Outdoor News will be published 26 times per year and is available via subscription and on newsstands.
The primary focus of Illinois Outdoor News is news. Each issue will contain reports from regional writers covering the entire state. Any and all important issues confronting Illinois sportsmen and women will be addressed in Illinois Outdoor News in a timely fashion.
The editor leading the charge is Ralph Loos, an Illinois native with more than a dozen years of daily newspaper experience. Ralph has worked as both a reporter and editor at papers up and down the state.
"Illinois sportsmen and women have wanted a publication that provides news and detailed analysis about local hunting and fishing issues," Loos says. "At present, there are many issues facing hunters and anglers in the state. It's a critical time for all of us who enjoy the outdoors in our state and my goal is for Outdoor News to provide a source of information about those issues."
"Along with timely content, we'll mix in just the right amount of information about where to go fishing and hunting, how to do it, and entertaining features, photo pages, and contests," Loos added. "I think sportsmen and women will love it, and our readership will quickly grow."
Along with the print edition, Illinois Outdoor News will also have a Web site that is truly interactive and easy to navigate. Found at www.iloutdoornews.com, the site includes outdoor blogs by the editor and editors in other states. There will also be breaking news updates and other timely information posted regularly.
Outdoor News Inc. is in its 40th year of publishing for the outdoors. Starting in Minnesota in 1967, it now includes a 14-year-old Wisconsin title, an 8-year-old Michigan publication, a 4-year-old Pennsylvania newspaper, a New York newspaper which is in its third year and an Ohio edition that launched in 2005. Paid subscribers for the six titles exceed 220,000.
Outdoor News Inc. is headquartered in Minneapolis, Minn., and operates publications in seven states. Each publication has its own editors, writers, and sales staff who live, hunt, fish, and write in their respective states. All writing, letters, photos and research occurs directly in each state.
