Here is Don and Edna. This Picture was taken right after we unloaded the head and loins off her. She was so tired that she just laid there while we took off the saddle. She's kinda a baby anyway, but this was the 5th elk in three days she packed out and she was pooped!

Nice elk Mike,

I have bugled in 5 bulls since sunday morning but nothing bigger than a 5 point ( 2 VERY BIG 5's) but we need 6 points on one side to shoot here so I am still looking.

have quite a bit of time left and seems they just hit there second rut so I will keep my fingers crossed

good job

I'm still prepping for my first elk hunt (three weeks!), but thought it useful to take another look at that mule.

Arkansaselkhunter, that picture is absolutely a classic! I've been priviledged to know a few mules, and they're all "characters". Edna must've been pretty tuckered out.

Yupp.. anyone thinking about going elk hunting by themselves would probably be well served to take a good look at that wore out animal.

I know how she feels!! I shot a spike one year with my bow that ended up down in a canyon.

Only about 1.5 miles out, but steep. One guy, two days, and the elk was out. One week recovery time...
