This months edition of 'Western Outdoorman' was headed "Quail population seems to be holding up well", after the short read the information was minimal and the areas described glum. Thankyou Western Outdoorsman, your articles have been ever so detailed and have become more streaming with less advertisement than ever, not. Forgive my sarcasm gentlemen. October 20th is approching.
This years opener with my new Lab I will try to avoid the crowds, the humility and safety of our first hunt is my main concern. Ive never hunted opening day at my, "secret spots", that being said i also want to try something new. My best friend and hunting partner lives in Hesperia CA. Given my late hours of employment Im going to head up the hill from my home in Riverside after work. I will trade a front seat for a bed in any situation. From there he says he had good luck and nominal crowds around their local municipal airport.
Im looking forward to this season. As outdoorsman we must remember to love our sport and cherish it. Be kind to our neighbors, they have a say in our sport regardless if they support us or the Second Ammendment. Im looking forward to hearing predictions and comments. Aim small, miss small.
God Bless

Am I ready? YOU BET! Been looking forward to the start of the season for months. Got plenty of spots scouted out in North LA County. Good luck with the new dog and hope your season is productive!

We are ready.

Thankyou CJACK,
Im glad im not the only one ready! Ive always avoided LA due to the traffic, i bet that the hunting can be stellar in those hard to reach places. Im guessing your headed for a zone. Great default photo might I add, tough! The best of luck to you my brother in the beast.
