amazing. like someone called a camo town meeting.

i went out in the dark and squatted in a spot that looked promising. when light came up, i heard movement, looked behind me and saw a hunter coming towards me. i moved, he saw me..and he came up to me..asked if i saw anything, and trampled down the area i was guarding. i heard him plowing thru the foilage.

figured it was time to pull out the breakfast burrito. i ate and waited for my partner to find me. he said a guy did the same thing to him. our hunt in that area was done.

we did some brush creeping ourselves. we found a clearing and took a break. he was asking me how long i have been married, when we heard a snort and a pig walking towards us. i had the better angle so i waited and he got to allllllmmoossst my opening and i came to full draw. i saw a bush move, and silence..then the rapid trotting of a pig escaping. my buddy said he saw the pig and said it was rather small. it would have been and 11 yard shot, and i would have shot at any body part the pig presented. :)

it was a very good time despite the crowds. i promise, if i see you at some ambush point..i'll backtrack and go waaaaay around you.

Gotta love public land hunting. Its overrun with idiots. There should be a physical aptitude and knowledge test to go with attaining a hunting license.
Same thing happened to me during fall turkey season. However, I had the pleasure of having the guy point his gun at my blind thinking i was a damn turkey. Then he decided to walk right in front of my blind through the area i was watching over.

ohhh..gun pointing is BAD.

i kinda like public land (lake sonoma especially). some guys have different interpretations to etiquette, but whatever. i like public land hunting, because getting a hog would be INSANELY cool. what an accomplishment. it is what keeps me going back to that fiasco.

i did have a guy check me out once hunting. he "glassed" me with his riflescope. i saw him moving about, and waved to let him know i was on the next hill. he saw me and checked me out with his damn riflescope. i walked over there with my brother to tell him that was a jackass move..he didnt even have binoculars.

There are very few secrets out there. Play the wind if possiable and good luck. Ran in to a very pleasant warden last thrusday chated for a while, As he pulled up all I could think was here comes the "wild justice guys" but he was a young guy who seamed very down to earth.

I don't like crowds, especially when it comes to hunting. I've been wanting to get over there, but the crowd thing just has me staying home. Upland hunting with Roxy has been my focus for now.

I know, I know....hunting with crowds is better then not hunting. That is true...

From what I'm hearing the majority of those wardens (not on the show) are pretty uptight about the show in general. Feeling they have been grossly misrepresented, that all they do is arrest people. Not sure what CA F&G was thinking... as if TV folks would make them out to be heros and show all the nice things they do. That wouldn't sell. They want to catch crazies on film and there are plenty of them on "Wild Justice."
