I'm going on my first Javenlina hunt in Feb. I have one question for you guys that have hunted them before. Is a 270 going to make too big of a hole for a full body mount?
I killed my first javie with a 7 mm rem. mag. and I mounted him lifesize, no problem. I guess it depends on your bullet and your taxidermist. I used 160 gr nosler partition and myself.
Not necessarily. Don't use a ballistic tip style bullet. If a lifesize mount were your goal, I'd use a Partition, Barnes, or Failsafe bullet. Something that will punch right through without making a big hole.
