Here's a couple more. I don't think there is an animal that is tougher pound for pound. Vicious little critters. I can't think of another animal that weighs 30-40 lbs. that has teeth that big. Maybe some kind of monkey.
Not this time!
I tried to talk some friends that I grew up with in Placer County to put in with me but they whimped out.
I've killed enough of them with my bow so I only was going to put in if I could take someone who hasn't done it yet.
I don't have any digital pic's of them in the field but here are some of my last pig that I took with a 44 mag handgun.
Glass Eye: That's a great looking pelt. If I kill a decent pig this Jan, I'm having it done like that. I like it better than a shoulder mount. I'd imagine after killin' five or ten, you'd get bored with it. Not great eatin'. But, yah, takin' a buddy for his first kill would be worth the trip. That was my first. So, I'm pumped for a few more.
Oh hell ya you can combine them. That's how we roll! You can buy a deer tag OTC and hunt both deer and piggies. Deer tag is good for coues or muleys. Believe you me, trying to bowhunt coues, spot and stalk, is very frustrating and fun at the same time. They make a muley look easy.
Draw is over, you'll have to check for leftover permits. I'm sure there are some around, especially as the GFD dramatically jacked up the price of the tag this year.
Bring it! Yah, usually, we deer hunt and find the javies by default. However, last year, we targeted javies to get them out of the way before we started working on the deer. The javies turned out to be so much fun that we wished we had more tags.
TRA, MAYBE WE SHOULD START PLANNING NOW FOR A JAVIE HUNT IN 2008. I THINK MY WIFE IS BURNED OUT ON MY HUNTS FROM THIS YEAR. I CANT COMPLAIN AS 2006 HAS TREATED ME VERY WELL WITH HIGH SUCCESS AND MANY DAYS AFIELD. FREEZER IS COMPLETELY FULL AND I STILL HAVE AN ARCHERY ELK TAG THAT IS GOOD TILL DECEMBER 15TH.
