I shot this sow about an hour after the two boars. We took four other pigs out of the group and filled the freezer of the land owner. Three pigs for me in one day, the hunt of a lifetime. This pig weighed in right at 200-lbs.
Well, this isn't really a hog, or a pig. It's a giant rodent, or a Collared Peccary. This is Buck Eye's javelina from Jan '04. This toothy critter was shot with a bow at ten feet. Can you say "pass through?" I was only five yards away. I remember the sound, the "thwunk," as if it was yesterday. Bucky asked, "What happened?" I said, "You just killed that thing!" The javy ran about 40 feet before piling up. Fun hunt.
Thanks Brent.
I wish I could have held on a second or two so you could have shot one as well. He was just too close for comfort. Just add it to the list of "I owe you one's" I owe you.
We got one today that I sure would like to add to this but I won't be able to get the pic's until tomorrow.
Anyway, here is the baddest one I have gotten tusk wise until today. IT wasn't weighed but after weighing the one today I guarantee it went over 250#.
The one we got today hit our scales at 100# over the top Los Cazadores hog, shame it's an 8+ hour drive over there.
***I went into the code to see why the photo's would not load. I cannot see anything wrong so it must be with webshots. since we are running out of time for the contest I just wanted to see if I could help make them visible.***
