Congrats to Wapiti for winning last month's wildlife photo contest. This month's topic is going to be themed Motion. Any photos that portray motion. Kids jumping rope, running water, boats, cars, trains, anything that moves will be legal this month. Feel free to give some details about your photo and how you photographed it.

AND, criteria for submitting to this month's contest is that you have to shoot the photo this month. So think about your target, and then try to achieve it.

This contest will run until Thursday, Aug 31st, 2006. At the end of this period we will vote and the winner will be awarded prizes from Jesse. Please reference the JHO Photo Contest Rules and Procedures

All three pictures were taken today (8/18/06). The first two were shot in B&W and the third was converted later.

Not as good as Leods, but it's my first H-bird so I'm including it.

Here is my only entry for this month (4 hours for one pic is enough). It is a picture of my father-in-law unloading a load of hay from the harrow bed. I set my camera up on a tri-pod and shot a series of about 15 photos. I then downloaded the pics and chose the final pic as my background pic. I then went to the pic that shows the middle of the process, selected the load of hay, copied it to the first picture, edited the degree of transparency and pasted it. I then repeated the process for the pic in the early stage of unloading. I then cropped the picture and left it at that. I knew in my mind what I wanted the pic to look like - I'm thrilled that it turned out that way.

Yes, the pic was taken today at about 11:00 AM. This in the final crop taken off the last of our 4 pivots.

Enjoy!

I changed my submission to a series I shot this morning. Banding wood ducks, catching them with a rocket net. It was really poor light, and a slow shutter speed.

Excellent motion pics this month. Just a heads up, 3 more days to submit. If you have been cooking something up for this month's contest, don't let the deadline slip by.

This photo was taken with my custom Made trail cam from June of this year. I though it was the coolest photo!
