. Who's interested in a FHL trip within the next 1 - 2 months? Lets kick some dates around and come up with a trip.

I'm thinking late April or early May.

Lets do it!

I'm in for it too. I can't make it 5-12(DU dinner). I'm sure I'll bring a few with me too.

I would be up for that, sometime in May. I would love to get a shot at some hogs.

Ok, cool. Lets set up a date and see how it works for everyone. How does 4/23 look? I'm pretty flexable, so if this date don't work, we can move it around some.

How long does it take to get your permitt back from FHL? I'm going to mail it off this weekend. Also, does a non-hunter have to have a permitt?

Hi Mel...

Permit application takes 10-14 business days for processing and you can bring one non-hunting visitor (Visitors do not need a permit). I'll try to get it done as soon as I get it. Put something on the envelope like "Hi Rannie!" so I know it's yours and I'll open it right away :)

Hope to see you guys soon! I'll be at the window :)

Rannie,
Thanks, this is cool you helping out like this. Looking forward to meeting you. On the Envelope, i'll put down JHO Rocks! This way you will know it's for me. Also, this will probably throw you off, on the application, my name will be George Carter, but I go by Mel (my middle name)

Thanks for all your help!

I'll mail mine off this weekend as well. Do I have to put a hunt date down or is it just an open pass?

I'm up for it. But I haven't been up there in like 15 years...
What do I need to do?

LOL, okay Mel, I'll look for it! No problem, glad to help! :)

To answer the question about what to do to hunt at Fort Hunter Liggett, you would have to send in a permit application which you can download at www.liggett.army.mil and send it in to us (or email me and I will send you one).

The applications are only done thru the mail. We only take money order or cashier's check. It's $70 for an annual (which expires with your 2004-2005 hunting license) or you can buy a $25 weekend pass (expires the same as an annual and can use only once during any weekend.) You may also bring 1 non-hunting visitor (free).

As soon as we give you your confirmation that your permit has been processed, you may come any weekend. There is no reservations and is on a first come first serve basis. Hope that answers some questions :)

I've been waiting for Camp Roberts to open and I see that 4/23-4/24 it will be. Only been there once but I really enjoyed it. Saw a lot of sign but no piggies. Maybe this time...

Ok guys, looking good so far. Now, I didn't know that CR was open on those same dates. Do you want to stick with FHL, or go to CR. I've been wanting to hunt CR for a while, but i'm open, so it's up to you guys. I think CR takes more hogs then FHL.

I think it might be a little better at CR. It doesn't matter to me.
