Just Curious, did we reach the minimun number of Hunters to make sure this Hunt will take place?

I am paid up, but have not been able to recruit anyone else as of yet.

Loadsprayer,

I don't have much doubt we'll reach our minimum for the May hunt. Not sure we're gonna pack the ranch this time, though... I'm guesstimating 30 hunters at this point, although there's still a month and a half before I have to send the final apps in.

The archery hunt in June is still in question, although interest has picked up. I have asked Barbara to go ahead and start sending the names of non JHO members who want to get in one last Tejon hunt for the year.

Hey Speck,

Your package went out today. Call me and let me know what you think.

Guys who haven't signed up yet should really think about it. The ranch is literally crawling with them. Below the oaks tress it looks like bombs went off due to all the rooting. I was up there last week and saw some just grazing the hillside catching some sun.

I look forward to seeing everyone up there, even though my "hogs" will be small, gray and live in ground burrows.

Sent money and apps. off today for me and a buddy.

Put 2 more on the list.

Hronk, you better be well recovered and rested so you can carry mine and Jrs pigs up some steep hillls. You know I am getting old and weak. Well maybe its just the altitude.HAHAHA

Come on piggies.

Eric, I'm up in Yosemite this weekend...hope to find my package when I get home.

Russ... the insurance is for a calendar year.

Dan... look forward to meeting you! If you hunt with Hronk, though, you'll probably kill your hogs in the road. No dragging required.

Five weeks to go. Finished my final handloads this weekend.. I'll sight in next weekend, and then start pacing back and forth until go time.

The new rifle is yet to make its appearance, and at this rate it's not looking promising for May!

I HAD to have the damned BOSS.

I've got a Golden Ram hunt at the end of this month to tune up, and may try to squeeze in one more before Memorial Day. I'll hit the range a time or two just to make sure, but the -06 was shooting pretty good in Texas.

Haven't received any more apps, though...that's kinda disappointing. Too many fence sitters out there. C'mon fellas...it's only money! Shoot, this lackluster response is making it hard to even come up with an inappropriate POR poem.

Okie dokie then...

I think I'm caught up on the application packets. If you requested a packet for either hunt (May or June) you should have received it by now.

If you sent me your information for a packet and have not received one, please shoot me an email now. Be sure to include Tejon Hunt in the subject line, and let me know which hunt you are interested in attending.

Completed App out in the mail today! No good Brother can't go again, rolling solo in shiny new toy. Hope I don't roll it down some horribly steep hillside into an equally horrible hellhole...

Minimum: pinstripe.

One unsolicited advice. If the road looks bad and grassy with unuse, turn back, it is useless to hope that it's going to get better.

Nice wheels, Joe! Seriously!

If those things are all they're made out to be, you ought not to have any problems anywhere on the ranch...especially in late May. The only mud should be down around a certain waterhole where a certain individual stuck in the mud looked like a piling with arms.

Dude, I'm still finding dried mud chunks in the cracks and crevices of some of my gear!!! My goal on this trip is to avoid such a "sticky" situation at all costs!!!

Nice ride Joe. I wasn't initially a big fan of those, but they are starting to grow on me. Saw a couple that were lifted and had quite a bit of extras and they looked pretty damn mean. Glad you and Russ are going, is that 20 yet Phil?

Hey Mark,

I don't have 20 in hand yet. I believe Russ puts us at 16. I've got a couple more who say they're "in the mail" so we'll see where we are come Monday.

If anyone's got a buddy that wants to make the hunt, bring 'em on. Also, don't forget that junior hunters (under 16) are half-price. We've yet to have any junior on the JHO hunt, and it sure is a great place to get the youngsters on a hog and build for the future at the same time.
