Dear Speck,

The snail mail address was sent to your email address. Just send one application and I'll make a 2nd copy.

I have every intention of making the hunt. I will be doing some building in May that may require my presence. I'll know a few weeks in advance of the hunt if I can make it.

I love hunting and fishing and everything that goes with it. I try to put in my "sweat equity" contribution as I can. If I am unable to make the hunt I will try to do something to benefit guys like Leon with his Desert project. (Never met him, just read about it here)

Update:

First of all, I now have 69 requests for application packets vs. 14 paid spots.

The most current batch of apps went out today. If you have requested an application packet (by sending me an email with your snail mail address), then you should have your apps by next Tuesday. If you do not, please contact me via email and we'll see what's happened.

OK, that's done. So...

It looks like for some reason, I'm having trouble replying to some emails and messages, particularly those to Cox.net and ClearChannel.com. Messages keep bouncing back to me undelivered. Could be that Jesse's server is on a blacklist? Dunno. But please bear with me.

Here's another request from the organizer (me).

If you requested apps for a party, then please return the party's apps all together. It makes life much easier for me. If, for whatever reason though, you have to send your replies separately, please indicate that you were part of a party. Also, include the party leader's vehicle information if you will be riding together.

This whole vehicle insurance thing can get a little confusing, and I'd rather have more info than we need than not enough.

OK.. that's probably all clear as mud. Email me, and I'll see if I can make it even murkier.

The Tejon rules prohibit non-hunting guests on these packages. If your friend can use his Tejon connections to get by those rules, of course he'd be welcome in camp.

I am waiting on some buddies to get me their respective info to send all in. If not, then my app will be on its way. A question did arise at to whether or not they may 'pop' some squirrels after they get their hog? I said NO, but what is the official stand?

Tejon's official stance is nothing but hogs.

No coyotes. No squirrels. No jackrabbits.

This gets tricky, because you'll probably see some folks out there shooting squirrels and such, because leaseholders and members are permitted to shoot varmints.

It's all in writing on the application/rules forms. Read carefully.

I'm waiting to get the app and check from my other party member to send both apps in. If the 1st rolls around, mine's going in on it's own!

Thanks for the update.

Hey Fritz,

I'd rather let those who are going or planning to go to announce themselves. I dunno why some might prefer to keep it to themselves, but I figure it's better if I don't list the names/handles.

Actually, it's getting close enough to start a thread in the Events forum so folks can maybe start building the buzz. We now have 15 paid apps, and a bunch more getting ready to come in.

Three Q's?

If taking a trailer to Tejon for the JHO Slam, does it need to be listed on the vehicle sheet with license plate #, and additional insurance info. ? I believe vehicle insurance covers trailer also.

If I am going to be traveling with my buddy in his vehicle for entering and hunting at Tejon, do I also need to list his vehicle info. on my sheet, or just leave my vehicle sheet blank?

Do I need to provide a photocopy of my vehicle insurance even if not taking it onto the property? I don't think so, but just asking to make SURE.

Thanks for your help.

Good question. It hasn't come up. I'd list both on the form, but I think you only need to provide insurance info for the vehicle itself. As you said, the vehicle insurance covers both, and that's what Tejon is mainly concerned about.

If you're riding with someone else, please go ahead and put their vehicle info on your sheet. This way there won't be any blank spots on the form to hold up your processing. I don't know if it's completely necessary, but it will make life a little bit easier, both for the folks at Tejon and for you.

If you're not bringing the vehicle onto the ranch, then you don't need to provide the insurance info. I think they just want to make sure that anybody driving on the place is insured. I also think they want to make sure that nobody tries to sneak in unregistered off-road vehicles.

Whose bringin' the Hooter Girls?

I'm in. Can't wait to sit around the campfire talkin' about the hogs taken that day. Maybe Speck will read some of his huntin' stories. Hopefully PitDog will be there to fill in with some sit down stand up.

I'm gonna do a scouting/hunting trip in March. Anybody else signed up for the March POR?

OneTrack, that was your assignment. You kinda let us down last year, so we're expecting REAL good things as atonement.
