The wife is a little ticked since it's our 11th anniversary on May 22nd… I told her I was going to get her the most expensive meat in the world and she should be thankful…

After I woke up from my concussion (note to self… quit buying LARGE frying pans), I realized that I may have been a little insensitive, so I invited her to tag along at Tejon and help out with cooking & cleaning and such…

I woke up today in Urgent care (not sure of the LARGE blunt object used to decline my generous offer) and thought, Man what a woman!

See ya’ll there!

Our group was in the first batch to confirm consisting of myself, son Mark (suzmar1997), a buddy Kenny (huntsndives), and another buddy Don (yet to join JHO). It will be our (myself and Mark) second trip to Tejon. Did last June saw lots of pigs but couldn't close the distance. A beautiful place to spend 3 days hunting pigs. Can't wait to meet everybody there.

We're gonna sit around and bash onions?

I don't get it. Onion soup? Or is this a new code word?
<

So let's see...

Dan, you're cool. Steve, you're also in there.

Prohunter, I have your packet right here with a handful of others to go out ASAP. Thought I'd sent yours with the last batch, but I don't have you checked off my list for some reason. Anyway... it's comin', it's comin'!

I haven't updated the spreadsheet with an exact count, but we're nearing the halfway point... appx. 25 paid entries!

This is kind of what I was afraid might happen.

I just received a check and application from someone who's not on my list.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE IF YOU ARE APPLYING WITH A GROUP, THEN PLEASE KEEP ALL OF THE GROUP MEMBERS APPLICATIONS TOGETHER

I realize that this shouldn't be that big a deal for me to sort out, but I really shouldn't have to be sorting it out. I think I asked nicely enough the first two or three times.

Thank you.

I'm probably one of the culprits. Sorry about that. Both my buddies live out of town. Both were lagging on getting their apps filled and checks cut. So, I got impatient and sent mine seperately.

Since we are not staying in a hotel, why do the apps have to be grouped? Just curious. Appreciate all that you have done and are doing.

Hey Brent,

It's just the way I've organized the spreadsheet. I only have the names of the people who requested applications, so when one of your group members sends in a check, and I don't know who they're with... then I don't have them on the list. Screws up my count.

Of course, I can always just add them to the spreadsheet, but that's extra work for me... and I'm trying to keep that to a minimum. Why? 'Cuz I'm lazy.

Well, that and I have better things to do.

I think I should be asking YOU where your application is. You know... the one I sent you a month and a half ago... and you LOST IT!

Don't make me call our little green friend and have him give you a stern lecture. And maybe a spanking too.

And he can only count to ten. Twenty one if he takes off his shoes & his pants.

Lost is such an ugly word. I prefer geographically undesirable.

Alright, a spanking from a frog? Maybe it's just that I've been working way too much but I'm intrigued...

I've got a friend that's planning to go. I'm really betting he's going to back out before the hunt. I know the Tejon money is refundable till you send it in. What about Bob Boggs?

I've been putting off sending my money waiting for him to commit hoping to avoid causing you the headaches of digging checks out and sending them back. I AM IN!!!! Please save me a spot or you'll have to drag your hog out alone this year
<
I'll even help you with Mudwalker's, since she'll probably shoot a bigger hog than either of us.

Hey Scott,

Somewhere I mentioned refunds, but the short of it is... I don't mind tearing up a check, app, and tag. Basically, it'll cost someone a tag if they apply and then decide to bail... unless they want to drop by in person and pick it up from me.

If they bail after I've sent everything to Tejon, though, they'll have to deal with Barbara and Don. I don't know how strict they are about the policy there, but that's beyond my control. Right now, my plan is to get everything to Tejon two weeks before the hunt.

I don't think Boggs does refunds, but that's another one that will be between the hunter and the vendor. I can provide the phone number if anyone has lost it, but I don't have a clue what his refund policy is.

Anyway, now that I've figured out a couple of unidentified hog hunters (UHH), we are officially at the halfway point with 25 paid applications in my sweaty little hands!

This is really shaping up. Should be a blast. I'd imagine that Speck will be bringin' the elk steaks. God knows that he couldn't have consumed them all in the last four months.

Okay, I'm in. Got the check here and everything, all set to mail it off. That is IF the application ever arrives. If it doesn't, I'll be sending some Frogsk, er..., Hogskin mojo the way of a certain person....

Elk steaks for 50? I think not, baby puppy.

I just finished whipping up a batch of elk chili, though, and put about a half-gallon in the freezer for Chopper's hunt. If that goes over OK, I may be convinced to make another batch... but if I have to fill fifty bowls, it's gonna be mighty tiny portions.

Tell you what Speck, you bring some elk ground and I will cook up some Dutch oven chili. I was planning on doing some chili there anyway or maybe elk meatloaf, potatoes and onions with corn bread.

Hmmm...

This could be worth the effort. That elk meatloaf sounds MIGHTY good.

Frogskin, that SECOND app should be there today or tomorrow. I'll see if the check comes back as fast.

You can put it all on one check. Just make sure the amount matches the number of apps.
