JHO Hog/Turkey archery hunt at Choppers Mar 28-30 2008

man, i am getting nervous! not helping that my wife has this crazy crippling cold. i am injecting orange juice straight into my veins! (i promise not to show if i am sick).

i will pack tonight! then shoot a few arrows just in case something moved and put the bow away.

my office biologist says; "rain on thursday to saturday!!" pigs like it wet right? turkeys do (i think), but i dont know how to hunt gobblers.

big pot of green chile stew made, and chilled.

bottle of maker's, some tequila (just JC gold probably), and beer to wash down the stew heat. see you in the afternoon. i am in a teal green S10 4x4.

I'll be in around 10pm ish Thursday night. Just hope Chopper moved that dozer I ran into last time.

I'll be grinning like a Cheshire cat too. Almond colored Dodge Quad cab with turkey calls coming from the cab.

What's the turkey limit? 3 per season?

3x 6 guys = 18 turkeys.

I think chopper said he only has about a dozen or so running on the place. We can leave a turkey target and some real feathers glued to it if ya like Rancho.

Glue them to a bottle of Patron and I'll be happy.

Yesterday I amost center punched a big tom going across the road after some hens. He was tripping over his beard - a big fat campus bird. Only thing hunting them is cats and coyotes. If it was season, I might not have hit the brakes.

Just got in to Chopper's, ebberbody is in bed now. Ernie and Don and his buddy are already here. Travis and the other 2 guys are due in here tomorrow. Decent ride up, just a bit windy over Tejon. Stopped and had lunch at the top of the Vine at Los Pinos. Dayum that mexican food there is good. Carnitos Brent, of course.

The boys went out earlier they said but no pigs. Turkeys gobblin all over. I need to locate a couple roosts tomorrow for Saturday morning.

Finishing the bourbon and then the sandman cometh.
