No idea where he hit this one, chopper asked, BH67 said i was aiming for the ribs, after 1,200 yards of blood trailing it disapeared down jamison canyon

Hey Guys,

Back from Chopper's. I shot one on Friday morning at 7:45. I thought I missed at first because the arrow appeared to fly over his back. After a good half hour of looking for the arrow I decided to follow his tracks. As well as finding tracks, I found blood and followed it for 5 hours and about 1500 yds through some THICK SH!T. This pig never bedded and I never heard it up in front of me. I lost blood and called Chopper. He brought Trixie and she put us on blood again. After 700 more yards and THICK SH!T we lost blood and scent again as the terrain and vegetation thinned out and called off the search. I was bummed, but learned a ton about tracking a wounded animal.

Saturday evening I got another chance at a small boar, but choked and shot under him. I think the hunting spirits are telling me to eat the meat in my freezer and not be greedy, or maybe just to practice more.

All in all, no one got a hog, three shots taken on hogs, at least 5 on turkeys(none killed or hit) lots of great food eaten and laughs had.

Bh,
How far was the shot on the first boar?
What type of shot presentation did the hog give you?
How big was the boar?
Did it seem as though the arrow passed through?
How was the blood trail?
Sorry to hear about the lost hog.
Are you itchy and scratchy from the P.o.?

After helping in the recovery of BH67's hog last Oct. I can say he doesn't deserve the name butshooter67. Now, Ballbuster67 would work!

Dave ... you went to Chopper's without me? You're killing me! Sorry to see you lost one. Glad you had fun. Call me on your next trip!
