JHP deer & turkey bowhunt at Fountain Grove Oct 10-12 2003
Anybody up for a bowhunt at this great area? This Conservation Area is managed for waterfowl but it is also a hangout for a lot of deer, some of them bruiser bucks. I've hunted this area for several years and we have always taken deer, does for the meat hunters and we've had a couple chances at big bucks. There are also plenty of turkeys to hunt too. 10,000 acres to roam and the pressure is usually moderate on weekends to light n weekdays.
The best areas close off Oct 15th for the waterfowl hunts so we need to do it before that date.
Yellow Creek CA which is neaby, we can use as a fallback plan B is we need to.
There is primitive camping on the CA and also nearby motels if you don't want to camp.
Some of the best areas are only accessible by boat so bring your canoe or poke boat if you want to get into the better areas.
