JHP Pig-O-Rama Hunt April 12-14

nrifenbark, Welcome to Jesse's.  If you make it out to the hunt you'll have a great time.  We've got some great guys here to talk to, and the campfire talk gets even better when we get together for one of our hunts.  Jesse listed the names of the topo maps that apply to the Tejon Ranch.  Once you find out which section of the ranch your going to sign up for you can get the maps at REI or most backpacking/mining/camping type stores.  You can also print them out free from: topozone.com

Just got my stuff in the mail from Tejon. It is being done different this time. On the applacation is the dates for the next three hunts. The dates are as follows: 04/12-14, 05/10-12, 06/07-09. You can now sign up for one two or all three at one time.

I can't stress  enough that those of you that wish to go to the April hunt need to get your'e paper work in as soon as you can. Remember, it's first come first serve. I would imagine that those who don't recieve the paper work by tommorow will get it by Monday or Tuesday, depending on how the mail runs.

If you don't recieve one by Wednesday, and you want to go...IM me with you're name and fax number and I can fax you a copy that you can use.

Those that wish to go need to get together and deciede which area to choose within the next day or so.

I also got my paper work.  I probably will go in June.  The final setback was having to send in a Pig tag.  I'll have to write DFG as there are no places on this side of the mountains that sell them....If anyone decides on June,  let me know....hronk

Well I got the check made out and the application done.  All that's left is to check the "north, south, or desert" box.  Looks like most of the No. Cal boys are going to the May or June hunts.

I'm still waiting on paperwork. I've left multiple messages and emails with Sandy and Barbara and no paperwork yet.

Go ahead and pick south if all the other norht peeps are going to later hunts. If I don't get my paperwork soon I won't be going either.

Thanks to Kernhunter who faxed me an application I was able to get it in the mail today. Tejon sure is a pain to deal with. First they gave out Don's number which he never answered. Then we pinned them down to Sandy and now she's handed it off to someone who is equally hard to get a hold of. ????

Bishop. I would get all the maps since you don't know where you'll end up and the maps overlap the north south border some.

$4.00 each if you order from the USGS and I got mine in 1 week.

For qucikest order, call call 1-888-ASK-USGS and give them the topo map names I listed  on the first part of this thread or you can order online or by order form in the mail.

That's all true. However, Barbara Boeck was just  awarded the responsiblities of handling all the Pig O Rama hunts.    Last Tuesday, she told me that apps would go out on Friday, and I received mine on Saturday.  So, it's getting better.  She's a sweetheart. She's snowed in today. However, she answered my call this morning from her house.

I know there was a short break, but Barbara has been SUPER FAST getting back to me via email.  I requested my packet on Thursday, and just got it today.  

Haven't tried calling yet.  Don't know how that'll be.

I'm sending out Evan IIIs and mine tomorrow too.  Anyone know how many hunters they allow in each section?

Bishop, it's 50 hunters per area. All of you guys that are either sending in tommorow or have sent in all ready are going to get picked, at least you're chance's are real good.

You guys will have a great time. dang I wish I could make it.....

Well, I got all my paperwork and money in the mail yesterday,,south was my first choice based on what I saw posted here. Hope we all  draw and get to meet  in camp.

I dunno, after 9 or 10 phone calls leaving my name, address and number and several emails I would think I would get at least a return call or the paperwork. Still nothing as of today. Thanks again Kernhunter for faxing the paperwork.

My pleasure. The good thing is now that you sent the paper work in you should automatically be put on the list to recieve future hunting information.

Keep in mind that you will get no notification if you get drawn. You will only get it if you were unsuccsesful.

You all have fun and think of us toiling away as you skip around the hillsides looking for pork chops....:laffin-yellow:

Mornin', Well, I haven't heard anything, I think that's good. It should mean I got my first choice. I plan on calling next week anyway. I hope everyone on the list has had the same results. I'm sure looking forward to it.
