Well, the application said you would'nt be contacted unless there was a problem so I've been checking my bank account online everyday.  The check to the ins. guy cleared monday and the check to Tejon finally cleared this morning, so I guess Me and EvanIII are set to go. Looking forward to seeing you guys up there.

You guys have to keep us May hunters posted on how it goes.  (Like you wouldn't anyway.)  Where are the pigs, and what are they doing.  Not that things can't change in a month, but it'll provide a good starting point.

I want to get myself lined out with maps for the south unit, but do not know what the boundaries are between north unit, south unit and the desert unit. If they are easy to describe, please help if you can. (I do have the ranch topo listings that Jesse provided previously.) thanks for the help!

A small group of us applied for the 04-12 to 04-14 dates and we requested South.  We applied pretty much immediately and haven't heard anything so I guess we're in. So, you can add for the South:
nrifenbark
jrifenbark
rookie

This'll be our first Tejon hunt and first pig hunt.  We're looking forward to it!

Looking forward to meeting you guys.  Make sure you got your JHP sticker so we can get hooked up.  With 50 hunters in each camp it will be nice to get the JHP group together.

Bishop:  I'm sending my check in tomorrow for two JHP stickers!  I did not know about them until I read your post.  Hope Jesse sends 'em out quick or else I won't have them in time for the Pig-O-Rama in April.  See you there.

Hi,,I'm loking forward to it also. I called Barbara, but she couldn't tell me what the boundry was between the north, south and desert units. Just that we take the Lebec exit off  I-5 to access the south unit. Does anyone here know the approx. boundaries for the south? It would be nice to have a map.
see ya!

Newbie questions:
I have not gone on a Tejon hunt before.  I'm in for the 4-12 to 4-14 Pig O Rama with three other members of my family.  We have our JHP stickers.  We are hunting the South.  I understand that check in is between 8 AM and noon at Lebec?  Where at Lebec?  Is there a game station or something like that there?  I assume that at noon the JHP army [and others] can drive to the campsite.  Is there water there or do we bring that in?  Will some kind of maps be provided showing the boundries for the South hunt area?  Not that I don't trust you guys but, I take it at least one piece of hunter orange is a good idea?
Sorry for all the basic questions but, a little help here would be appreciated! Thx.

nrifenbark,

Tejon is off the 5 fwy at the Lebec exit near Frazier Park. it is about 30 mile south of Bakersfield near the Tejon Pass.  I was told you have to check in at the office in Lebec then they will give you directions to the south side. This is my first time to Tejon also, I will also be at the south side.
You may want to call Barbara 661-663-4288 and get info on maps. I plan on bringing everything with me in my trailer.

See you guys there. 5 days and counting.......

OK, just got off the phone with Barbara.  If your coming north or south on the 5 get off at the "Fort Tejon Exit". The address of the office that you need to go to check in is: 4427 Lebec Rd.
Again, check in is after 8AM, and they won't let you onto the ranch until 12 noon.

As far as I know all the JHP'ers are going to be hunting the south section.  Barbara said there are 48 people signed up so far, so there's still 2 openings.
Looking forward to seeing you all there.

John--thanks for the info.  Is this dry camping -- gotta bring water with us? No problem if we need to bring water except for limited room in the Jeep Wrangler so if I don't need to carry it I won't.

This will be my first trip to the ranch too.  Maybe  Kernhunter or One Track can advise on the water situation
