Jicarilla Cow Elk

Hey Folks, I pulled a cow elk tag for the Jicarilla Reservation in NM over New Years. I have to use one of their guides and they gave me a big list of the approved guides. I wanted to narrow it down a bit if possible. Anyone have any recommendations for one of their guides?

Not having hunted on the Jic. but around it, and seeing their videos, I would recommend Larson if available. http://www.jicarillahunt.com/videos.php

My dad did a hunt once. His was the $250 a day deal (or whatever it is now).

They put him and a friend with a guide who drove around them around the res. He would see elk, stop, then say "Get out and shoot." They both got their cows. The guide was able to drag the cows up to the truck himself.

Processing was a breeze with the setup they had. Be sure to take your guide out to dinner afterwards.
