HOG HUNTING SEMINARS: Jim Matthews will be conducting a series of seminars on hog hunting in California's public and private lands at three different Turner's Outdoorsman locations the evenings of May 17, 18, and 19. The seminars will cover public land huntings, how to set up private land hunts, and hog hunting guns and gear. The Wednesday evening event will be at the San Marcos store (760-741-1570), the Thursday event in San Bernardino (909-388-1090), and the Friday event at Reseda (818-996-5033). Interesting. I just talked to an employee and a Manager at the SBD location and they have no idea about it. They were gonna make some calls and call me back about time and getting a seat.

After a half hour of calling and checking web sites, the manager still knows nothing about it except that he heard from another person calling about it. At least got my name on "list" so i'll be there. Anyone else?

Well, attended the seminar last night in SBD, and it was great. First night at San Marcos location Jim said he had roughly 45 guys but last night was a little more intimate at only 4 of us. It definately was worth the time going there as I still consider myself a newbee (no pig bagged yet). Jim talked with us all about the piblic land situation and helped us out in pointing us in the right direction, but like I have heard here numerous times: No pigs on public land will be found unless you invest the time to get out there and start hiking and searching!!!! How true.
We also spent some time talking about the right bullets for pigs and shot placement. Very good stuff.
