Joice Island Pig Hunt

Hi There,

Anyone ever been drawn or known anyone who's been drawn for the Joice Island Pig Hunt? Just wondering if anyone ever takes pigs from these special hunts or if they're just a waste of time?

Just to drop the odds of gettng drawn, here is my Joice Pig from 5 years ago. A friend of mine hunted it last year and didn't see a pig.

Anyways, Nice hog Kentuck. Hopefully someone in our party will get drawn and be successful.

I got drawn for that hunt 2 years ago. When i went we not only saw a bunch of sign, but we watched a guy kill a small boar, and missed to big ole boars right at last light. Apparently, from what i heard, last year was not terribly productive. If you get drawn i'd be happy to tell ya where we saw/ shot at hogs.

The lady at the booth said that nine:hog chewing: were taken last year. Doesn't seem to bad out of 24 hunters.

They just had the drawing for this years hunt. Does anybody know when & where the results will be posted?

I don't believe that they post the hunts anywhere... I think the successful applicants are contacted by mail... You should be able to call down there and they'll tell you whether you've drawn...

I don't think they have a hunt for the 24-25. Did he get drawn for the 20-21 or the 27-28? Just wondering, I applied for the 27-28 and haven't heard anything. I'm assuming our group didn't get drawn as we live in vacaville and should've received any mail notice fairly quickly.

Well...let us know if your dad has any luck.

Hi, I was drawn for the same date!! I've never hunted up there, but I know that you should have hip boots or waders and lot's of bug spray. We should talk some more before the hunt.

Really won't need waders unless you want to hunt the ponds on the south east side. Then you will need chest waders and a wading staff. There are some seriously deep cracks in that area. You can find yourself in very deep water fast. The pigs do hang out on the tule islands there from what I've heard from some duck hunters. I prefered hunting elsewhere.

Absolutely be there before daylight and hunt till dark. Daylight and dark will be your best times.
