My niece doubled up on two sows right before dark - my brother and I just now got them back to the truck... These two were IN THE MUD! What a mess! 3 pigs in one day! Mgdeer - there is so much sign, it can be hard to tell the fresh sign... We pretty much pick a tunnel and go in after them! View attachment 84710

Hey 84Toyota, congrats to you and thanks for opting out as I WAS one of the alternates....
I got lucky with a 100lb boar. We tried pushing the pond but it was ALOT of work and we never saw anything, the other alternate guys were pushing it as well from the opposite side with no luck. The day was really hot and sadly I fell in the slough with my waders, 4 ft down. So we called it a morning and upon return to the truck saw a 150+/- boar across the slough in the duck club at high noon. To bad a closed area
Anyway, I returned that evening and decided to do it the easy way... I just walked the levy around A to an area where I could see into the tulies on the slough side of the levy near where the pig hwy's were crossing the levy. I got a little sore and it was still early so I decided to walk a bit and see if anything was moving. The pigs in the tulies are almost invisible... it saw me and took off and I never saw it- done for the night. Anyway returned the next evening and did the same. at about 5:15 they started moving and two pigs paralleled the levy through the muck. Had a 30 yard shot with my buddy's 20 guage, it dropped and the other took off. Then had 10 yards to drag it out of the mud and a mile back to the truck.
here is my advice for others going there. the pigs seemed to like the slough side of the tulies and they hunker down back in there where its almost impossible to get to and since they hear boaters and fisherman all day, noise doesnt bother them. Its best to just wait them out and pay close attention because even though they are crashing the tulies and wading through water a foot deep, they are still super stealthy and damn near invisible, even with a scope it took me a while to pick them out in the swamp and they were only 30 yards away.
Here is my pig and good luck to whomever is next
