I think that's a question I would have asked before I put in for the tags. Either way, I've heard some decent things about the place. I know 3 guys who have hunted there and they all got pigs (three seperate trips). None of the pigs were huge (110, 125, 180) but any pig is worth eating! I wouldn't expect it to be like a pay-to-play ranch but they are apparently up there.

I have never been lucky enough to draw for pig, but have hunted waterfowl there. I live about 30 minutes away. I was shocked to see the pigs in our decoys. I saw a lot of pigs and almost got motored over by a nice boar. Most that I saw were in small packs and around 100 pounders. I hunted in the tule marsh, at the entrance to the area. The pigs where in there eating the tule roots. During waterfowl season that area was flooded. Not sure if it still is. It was very very tuff to walk in, bring some waders just in case. The down side would be the quality of the meat. It is some rank smelling muck that they live in. All flat marsh, no hills at all. That is a tough call for the long drive. Call Grizzly Island and see what they saw. Good Luck!!

Redneck, actually I did all my homework before entering the drawing so I knew what I was getting into but after thinking about it I wondered if this late in the season would still be good . they've been hunting the pigs since Jan and usually pressured pigs go nocturnal, so I guess my title should have been is it still worth it to hunt there at this late date . I'm going anyhow and I'm bringing waders , thanks for the advice guy's , Bill

Had a friend get a pig there last weekend. Killed it in the pond just across the bridge. It was around noon. Seems like most guys were seeing pigs on their hunts there so far.
