Joice Island

Went to Joice Island last Saturday. No luck. Hurt my knee badly during week and had to walk with a brace. Still, I must of walked 4-6 miles. 2 other hunters also and no pigs taken on Sat. Got out in the middle of the ponds and tons of sign, wallows, etc. Very different from when I went 4 years ago. No waders needed. Saw 4 pigs at around 5:30 about 700 hundred yards by standing in back of my truck and glassing. Got downwind and put on a stalk but too much deep mud and deep canal between, pigs moved out of sight. Saw them again later but this time 1000 yds away in thick tules. Found out residents and duck clubs taking many pigs off of main road. Anyway, very nice day. Couldnt go back Sunday, bad leg. Mothers day etc. 1 of the other hunters was 73 years old from Pasadena.

Hey having a good time is what its about. Getting a pig is secondary. Anyway I didnt get any of your emails so I sent you another one as a test. I hunted out of Parking area 3 first for about 2.5 hours then area 2 for another 2 hours, then walked around back side of area 1 pretty far around. Then went to 4 and walked to the tree areas. Saw the pigs at 4. Another guy said the pigs should be at area 1. I walked thru the tule patches pretty thouought in areas 2 & 3 with my partner making some noise trying to spook them to my side.
