For this month's photo contest, I thought it would be fun to see all your best black and white photos of a single tree, or tree part. The focal point of the picture should be one tree, or a portion of one tree - not a forest or stand of trees. Have fun!!

Good choice ranchwife.....I'll have to get out this week hopefully and shoot a few trees. With the camera that is...

#!

This is actually three exposures processed in Dynamic Photo HDR. It was a little windy that day so not as sharp as I would like, but with the processing it has a somewhat surreal look.

I'll try and get another photo to enter if time permits, but I figured I'd get something posted since you guys seem to be slackin'!

Nice work guys!

Just a reminder, you can submit three pics but put one pic per post and number in sequence. Makes it a whole lot easier come time to vote.

Thanks everyone.

How do you get rid of the annoying black border?

This image was taken in RAW and converted to JPEG, so I don't have the exif date off-hand. Converted to B/W using the infrared effect and then a little contrast and level tweaking. I think the vignette style border fits this shot.

This one was taken in JPEG and converted to B/W using an infrared effect. A little lever, contrast tweaking and added the border again.

1/200 sec, f/10.0, ISO 100, 44mm

Congrats to Wapiti! Clearly the winner this month by a landslide.

And Ranchwife takes the runner-up position.

Congrats to both...some fine shots!

Wapiti will have the distinction of choosing the topic for the July Contest. Pleas e-mail me your choice and I will post and pin another thread.
