Well.....I guess I'm going this weekend for more pigs.

We will be on the south side in a Discovery RV with a blue jeep towed behind the RV. Stop by and say hi!

I'm going with the bow Friday and Saturday am. and finish with the rifle if I have too.

Dang, brother!

Whack 'em and stack 'em! The hogs are there, and now the moon is going away the hunting should be a lot better than this past weekend.

You can do it dude! Stick with the bow. You already have pork in the freezer. Stick it out. If you are with a buddy that is rifle hunting, you will feel compelled to just grab the rifle and make it easy on your buddies. Don't do it. Stick with the bow. Ther reward is soooo much sweeter when you stick that hog with an arrow. It's an incredible feeling. Do it. Do it.

It was a great weekend , oniy 26 hunters and 75% killl ratio.
We started out by setting a few standards for this hunt no road hunting kills only spot and stalk from glassing. And of course we see over 25 hogs running acros the road during the weekend.
Friday we see lots of hogs while glassing but they were either wet sows or boars neither one is the way we wanted to go.

Satuday Morning we glass hogs and put a stalk on one but we lost her in the tal grass.
In the afternoon we spot a group of 10 hogs feeding right where we wanted them to be......an easy down hill drag to the road, and a short stalk if the wind is right. We park the jeep and walk down the hill and spot the pigs they are in tall grass and all you can see is their backs. We see that all the sows in the groujp look dry with no piglets. We set up about 75 yards above them the wind is blowing down hill and we must keep the breeze betwwen us and the pigs or they will be gone. We sit and wait for the pigs to come to us, light is fading fast and this could get nasty we are about 30 feet from where they were but there is tall grass and we can't see them yet. First a gray sow comes in just above us at about 20' I pass hoping that 2 pigs give us a shot at the same time. Next a black sow comes into about 15 yards I wanted to wait and see if another pig comes with her but, Bob gets nervous and takes the shot and the pigs just move up the hill but have no idea what's going on. I stand up and start running after the pigs they go 30 yards. I take a shot and hit her now she's pissed and she charges Bob and smacking her teeth. Bob didn't know what to do and didn't shoot, she trotted off down the hil we looked for blood but no luck and the ground is so dry that tracking was useless. Bob now knows if a pig charges shoot first ask questions later.

Well that's it we saw close to 50 hogs could of killed about 20 from the road.
We did get the chance on Friday to walk up to some juvenile pigs 9 boars and 2 sows. They saw us and didn't care, the cows ran off and they did not care. We walked up to 5 yards while they were feeding and they didn't care at all.
Love the ranch and can't wait for next year.
