Junior Hunts

Hey all, my daughter gets to hunt big game this year. I put her in for Junior Deer hunts here in California. Any recommendations on what else I can put her in. She has 0 big game kills under her belt but has hunted several years with me. Hoping to get her a hog here soon. Any junior deer hunts out of state or elk hunts? Or anything in California? I’m all ears. Appreciate all the advice and recommendations!

Arizona. You can put her in for their Jr cow elk hunts. Costs a whopping $15 for the application and if successful, the tag is only another $50. Draw odds are pretty good. If she starts applying at age 12, virtual guarantee she'll get drawn while still a jr. Both my sons drew their first year applying.

We did the unit 22 hunt. Around Payson. But it was 10 yrs ago. Not certain what units they are doing that specific Jr hunt toda

CA offers some pretty cool Jr bird hunt. Periodically check their site for new postings. My youngest son was drawn for a pheasant hunt last year that was great! Also, check with any local hook and bullet clubs as many of them offer youth hunts as well.

The junior deer hunt at Canada de Los Osos is a great hunt with a 100% success rate. Application time is usually july-august.
