She's a Remington 700 BDL with detachable magazine. .30-06 with a Simmons Pro-Hunter 3-9x40mm. Let's get some hogs!

Good choice! I put a drop mag in my BDL. I love it. Don't know how I ever did without it. Great looking gun. Now, get some pigs!

That detachable magazine is a convenience that like Pbrdog, I do not know how I got along without it until I discovered the pop-in/pop-out convenience. You will never fumble loose rounds in the dirt again while unloading the trapdoor magazine editions. That is a pain in the neck that I will not go back to after I switched over to detachable magazines in 1998. Congratulations and good hunting. 'Nuff said.

Nice, Max! That's a good rifle and a great caliber.

Not only that, but I'm pretty sure I recognize that gun counter too. I shop there quite a bit. Not too many other options in the Bay Area.

Go get some pigs, and let us know how you liked it!

Hoggin' hammertime dude!!!! Go get 'em with that boomer!!!! 180 grns. of stout construction bullet will get you through and through penetration many, many times. You'll have less frustation tracking wounded game with the blood pouring from the bigger exit hole. The pork fat will plug the small entry wound stopping the blood trail. 'Nuff said.

Congrats on a fine purchase.
Where did you get it ? It's been driving me crazy that I don't recognize the counter. Is it in Fremont ?

I might make myself look like an idiot here, but I'm fairly certain that's the counter at Trader's Sports.

Looks like Traders to me too, but for that price how can it be??!?!?! They usually are a pretty pricey place to by guns! Or at least the few times I have actually checked the prices before giving up and not looking anymore.

Nice gun, I have the same one but in 7mm.

Question: could my trapdoor magazine be replaced/upgraded to a detachable magazine?
