"As far as the November election, it would be hard to come up with a reasonable scenario in which Sen. Nelson has anything to worry about," Brown said.

This is the election our very own GWhunter called 50-50....

Watch him try to weasel or qualify his statement on this. Fortunately the original post and full context are all preserved for all to read.

Sorry Foo. The only one that weasels is you. I have never backed down from my prediction and so far I am 100% right, but you are too much of a "hater" to acknowledge simple facts. Harris won the primary handily despite your "laughing." Whether Harris actually becomes a Senator is irrelevent. She has a 50-50 chance of winning as does Nelson. Those odds are not good for a Republican in a fairly Republican state. Now, the general election has started it is a whole new ballgame. Do you want me to spell that out in English for you? It is politics, which you show a severe lack of knowledge about and depend entirely on newspaper reports and DNC talking points to form your opinions. Sad really. Only diehard politicos pay attention during primaries, not the average voter, which means polls are virtually meaningless. We'll see how the race shapes up after the head to head political fighting starts. What was your prediction again? Oh yeah, you did not make one because you are too spinless to take a chance. Or was it that Nelson would win by 35 points? Hmmm, I do not hear you...what was that?

GW - Help me understand the Republican party's political dynamics and implications here.

Harris was discouraged, probably an understatement since the words "she is an embarrasment" was used, by party hierarchy in throwing her hat into the ring. Yet, she decided to go ahead. Now, the party delegates choose her in the primary even when her own party mates are saying she has no chance whatsoever of winning.

So where will this lead to? What's a happy ending?

So, help me understand the democrat party thought process... They nominate algore(who invented the internet) and he lost resoundly all the while crying about a stolen vote, then the try with kerry( the flipflopper) who is still talking about the injustice done to him, all while still looking for a plan...

I am not sure that I understand Florida politics enough to even make an educated guess as to why the Florida Party is concerned about her candidacy. To tell you the truth Beast, I do not know if there is a happy ending here for anyone involved except maybe Nelson. Quite frankly, I do not understand why the party has (at least by all news accounts) abandoned Harris or if they even have really.

All I knew is that Harris was going to win the primary simply because she has the biggest name compare to the other Republicans in the race. Well, there were a few other minor reason, but people tend to go with a name they know in politics. Now that she is in the general election, it is a whole new game. She will either rise or fall with the people of Florida. My gut instinct tell me that her chances are better than the news reports predict because they are always wrong. Will she win??? I have no clue, but I will tell you that Nelson will not have the new report's predicted landslide victory...what was it 35-40 points they predicted??? Only Ronald Reagan creams somebody that badly and Mr. Nelson is no Ronald Reagan. That is my

Easymoney,

You might have woke up on the wrong side of the bed, but aside from heckling GW (which I admit I am always guilty of), I would want to understand his take on this and party politics.

The sun is shining in our side of Kalifornia

I always wake on the bright side of the bed, as I live in "darn near paradise"...
Back to the topic, Harris surprised "everyone' by grabbing the nomination, period...

It's 50-50 baby,

Wait, GWhunter says he does not like to make a decision till he has all the facts, then he predicts this race as 50-50 and then he says,

wait for it........

"I am not sure that I understand Florida politics enough to even make an educated guess as to why the Florida Party is concerned about her candidacy"

Let me repeat that for you GW.

You don't know enough to know why JebBush would ask her to leave the race for the good of the party, but you are on the record as saying it is a 50-50 chance.

It is patently obvious that you made that prediction knowing nothing about the race in FL.

And then you have the unmitigated gall to lecture me.

I'm not a hater sir, I'm laughing at you, again.

And I'm laughing out loud, right now...
I just read where harry the whiner reid has asked or hinted in public, that the hildabeast not run for president and remain in the senate, "for the good of the party"...

This is going out of the topic which will anger GW and Foo leaving their Harris' battle. But Hillary's poll numbers are now near McCain's and does not anymore have those strong negative voter's reaction. Meaning, she might be winnable and, therefore, she can now be good for the party.

Well that all would boil down to whom you are speaking...
In NY she is a strong front runner, but IMHO most of the country can't stand her and she might not do so well. She also has torn a page right out of the john kerry play book, if someone asks her her position, she just answers yes...
But, then she will say no right after she says yes, OH my it gets so confusing...
By the way did she spell out "the plan" yet? Me thinks not!!!

The polls numbers below indicate that there were a few months of polling trend going on in the FL senate race. Notice that the 3 people she beat in the primary were never considered serious candidates, sort of like the Republican candidate in Connecticut that the Republican party will no longer even take calls from......

Date Nelson Harris

Apr 10, 2006 57% 27%
Mar 6, 2006 55% 34%
Feb 6 2006 49% 40%
Jan 3 2006 54% 31%

Apparently, there is now one poll that indicates that Harris is only trailing by 23%. In a state that has a republican governor and gone red the last two presidential elections it was probably never reasonable to believe that Harris would lose by 30%.

On the other hand there is a poll out which indicates that the vast majority of democrats think Kathy's recent victory is a big plus for team blue.

Thus, the word "prediction." Do you want me to look that up for you Foo, since you obviously have no clue what it means. And surprisingly, you are too busy laughing and too much of a coward to make a "prediction" of your own??? So, until you are willing to put your prediction where your mouth is, I guess you nothing more than a pathetic hater who cannot think outside the DNC talking points. Good Luck Foo! Your true colors are showing, better run and hide like all fakes do when their slip is showing.
