Hopfully someone comes out with something quick. Im going to order the barns bullets for now but will keep my ears open if something else comes out. I ordered some slugs for my shotgun already paying 3 times more but i like the sport so much that i got to keep going ahead.[/b]
You found some slugs? Are they sabots? Because I'm having a tough time finding any kind of slug that will work in a smooth-bore.

Bobby?
What calibres you loading the TSX and the MRX for?

Im trying to find something my 300 WM R1 will like. I just found some 150 speeer Bonded Bearclaw on clearance sale for 22.00/box but I really want to try those MRX's
I had an order in for 4 boxes then my brain caught up with me and I cancelled the order. 60.00/box for factory loads is insane!
I just found out i can reload with the MRX or TSX bullet for a mere 1.50/bullet ? This sounds insane too but it's reality! that 1.50 does not reflect the cost for casees, primers or powder! that's just the cost of the bullet itself. I plan to use the federal premium cases from the vital shocks i purchased with the 150gr bonded bear claws so i wont have to purchase cases for awhile i should get them done for under 1.75 apiece. thats still 35/box.
Does this sound reasonable to anyone?

My closeout bargain ammo from Midway arrived. $22.00 per box for Federal Premium Vital Shok loaded with 150gr. Speer Bonded Bear Claw. fired from R1 300WM @ 100yds. This is the first reasonable group I have been able to get with this rifle using factory ammo. I ordered 3 more boxes last night.

Franklin,
I lucked out on my 7mm rem mag savage package for $399.00 at BIG 5 the scope is cheap but it gets the job done.
I'm more of an archery hunter anyway.

I bought the scoped med bore for long ranges because I read about 200 and 300 yard shots.
So far, 120yds or less has been the case.

Over at the range, I love shooting this thing and can knock down several boxes of ammo easily.
It really loves the barnes but they are expensive for target shooting.

Reloading can help you find what combination load and powder your rifle prefers and when you find it those groups will tighten up.

I was getting a spread like that and thought that my cheap scope was walking and then I found that the fore end stock screw had loosened once I tightened it it's been fine.

I'm going to look into the H4831SC I've bought some IMR4831

well i've worked up stuff for the .243, 270 WSM, 300 weatherby.

.243 likes the 85 gr tsx with RL15 or BLC-2
.270 WSM really really likes 130 gr MRX with H414. also 140 gr TSX with RL22
300 WBY likes 180 gr tsx with 4831 and RL25. MRX with same powders, but TSX still shoot better.
