Stopped in to see my friend Darren near Paddy Creek, they already had 2 hanging from the night before. Darren was out with his eldest son chasin some more hawgs so #2 son and his wife gave me the tour. The boar in the pen he caught was a good 300 lbs, one on the left. The skull is from a monster 490 lb razorback they killed over on Fort Leonard Wood a few years back. The choppers was just shy of 5 inches, I crap you not. The actual head mount is in Houston MO Wal-Mart if you're ever down that way. Darren has about 6 black mouth cur hounds and 3 pits he uses to bay up the hawgs, they can kill them all year and any way they want in MO. The hound he had in the truck had a nasty 5" gash right under his butthole where a hog had turned on him that morning, almost took his twins clean off.
The MDC calls Darren when they need hawgs killed for depredation. He said the pigs are spreading out all over MO but he cant guide on public land for pigs, only private land.
