Kit Fox

I have only seen three of these Kit Fox in my life, twice at night and this one today. They are about the same saize as a house cat, 3-5 lbs and that's what I thought it was when it jumped the road in front of me, I got 6 photos of it through the window of my truck with a small point and shoot camera, the photos are not great, just rare.

Nice shot regardless of the cam. I think that I seen one of these in the california desert near Indio one time. I thought it was just a really small fox. Thanks for sharing!

The range on these Kit Fox are pretty much the southwest, into southern Oregon and western Idaho. These photos were taken near Desert Center Calif. which is about 50 miles east of indio. I set up a game camera on what I think is the den for this guy today, I don't know if it will play out or not as there didn't seem to be much sign around any of the 6 entrances or exits, but will see what happens. In all the facial photos he is squinting his left eye so I'm thinking he has lost it somehow.
