Knives of Alaska can't be beat. The small muskrat skinner has gone through three hogs a buck and one bobcat last year with minimal sharpening required I got the combo for christmas that has a small caping knife that was good for skinning the cat but the round tip of the skinning knife takes alot of the mistakes out of skinning. I carry it in my bag with a buck 110 and never feel under knifed.

I use one of my Gerbers , forget the model , it's a folder with 2 finger grooves in the handle . Its the smaller model , not the Magnum . I've owned Buck knives and I believe a Schrade identical to the Buck , both sit in my hunting gear , razor sharp , unused , both weigh 3 or 4 times more than my little Gerbers ! Smaller is better , small and razor sharp is BEST !

Schrade Sharpfinger.
Small enough to work easliy inside the chest cavity, and enouigh of a belly to make skinning easy.
Blase need to be touched up once in a while.
Reasonably priced also.

My buudy used to help out some taxidermy people, and that is what they used.
