Kodak has announced a promising looking new EasyShare camera to replace the P850 at the top of its 'Pro' range. The P712 features a 7.1MP resolution, 12x stabilized Schneider lens, high resolution electronic viewfinder and 2.5-inch screen. It is also claimed to have 'best-in-class' shutter lag and a new high speed focus system.

After a little research I just ordered the P850 online and am waiting for it to be delivered. The features fit my needs(I think) and the 266.00 price tag made it a no brainer. I am sure there are better but I am hoping this will be a good place to get into the game and find out what I really want/need in a camera. Mostly I want to use it for trophy photos of my buddies and I and also to shoot deer from the stand that I don't shoot with my bow. As well as the all around, Haul on vacation and to holidays camera. I am looking forward to playing with it and will report my pro's and con's
