Well I got drawen for the la panza elk hunt. best thing Ihave gotton in the mail all year. i was wondering if anyone has ever hunted it. Are the elk on pulic land?

try the carissa plains. that is all public. most of your big bulls are on private land. the dfg might send you a list of ranchers who allow hunting on there lands.

There are a lot of elk in the area but unfortunately they are all on private ground.  Id stick with the idea of checking with fish and game for private ranches.  The carrizo plain doesn't sound to good to me.  I coyote hunt there all the time and the only things I have ever seen out there with four legs are cows, rabbits coyotes and antelope.
