Got this nice Lake County boar this morning around 8 am. I'd gotten to the ranch an hour earlier and drove the perimeter on my quad. From the very top of the ridge I spotted him as he was grazing along the edge of the valley below, almost a mile away. I drove the quad part way down the ridge then shut it off and coasted down further before getting off and stalking closer. He was head down collecting acorns, easy to set up a 100 yard or so shot from behind a pile of logs I use as a turkey blind. Dropped in his tracks - '06 to the boiler room will do that. Nice eater - 180 lbs. At Buds being converted to sausage and pepper sticks.
