Man may skin deer in public, board says

Feb. 25, 2003

The Gazette

No matter how horrific it may seem to some, skinning deer carcasses in full view of neighbors is an allowable pastime in Lake Linganore, the community's board of directors ruled Monday when they denied a resident's petition to prohibit such activities.

New Market veterinarian John Zisk, who lives on Forest Edge Circle in Pinehurst, said the board essentially shrugged off his request for them to arbitrate a compromise regarding the matter. Zisk believes that his neighbor John Ramboz is in violation of the community's regulation against engaging in offensive activities when Ramboz skins deer in the neighborhood.

Ramboz, who showed up at the meeting with a group of supporters, said most residents on the block are hunters and have no problem with him skinning his kill.

"I really don't see what the problem is," Ramboz said, noting that what he’s doing is perfectly legal.
