Look LD's ballistics should be great--after all, he is pulling a 36 lb draw...

U tell him LD!

But It sounds like you saw more hogs in one day at Sonoma, than I did in four days in Tehema. I should have gone with you!

Don't be so sensitive LD,
I only brought up the only thing that could have gone wrong in that perfect opportunity.Beleive me I've been there and truth hurts.
I don't know it all fellas, but I do know Lake Sonoma.Ive been hunting it for 8 yrs. and taken several pigs. There are some big hogs in there and if your winging those light weight arrows at the big boys you could be in for some disappointment.

The ONLY thing that could go wrong????? Ever see a 675 grain arrow travelling at 226 fps (76+ ft/# of energy) hit the shoulder of a 100 pound sow and stop dead. I have. You don't always get the penetration you want it you hit the wrong spot. Ow and it was a cut on contact quality head, a G5 Montec.

There could of been a thousand scenarios why I didn't kill or find that hog, but you being Fred Bear know the all the answers. Maybe like I stated the shot was to high, I couldn't find blood, or he was laying dead 10 feet in front of me and I just couldn't see him. But you're right my arrow was to light, thank you master!

8 years of hunting Lake Sonoma and that makes you an expert?

This morning I was in the woods looking for sign and followed the his tracks 200 yards from the point of entry. No Blood. His tracks got lost in the leaves. I believe the shot had killed him but he didn't bleed right away because of the angle of the arrow in his shoulder. I was disappointed. I searched for a couple hours with nothing to show.[/b]

The real problem is lacing up the track shoes and chasing after another animal when you have one down. People are willing to spend a great amount of thier time sitting in the woods hunting but don't realize the hunt is not over with the shot! Taking a shot puts a greater responsibility on the hunter to recover his game. Not quit when he sees another animal that may be easier to get.
I wasn't there and would never say that what LD did was unethical but I would have spent the rest of the hunt looking for the animal that I had decided to kill.

I wasn't there either, but I agree you did everything wrong.

In conclusion, you should hang it up - send all of your equipment to me for the sorry fact that you haven't a clue how to use it.

In addition - even though I haven't witnessed it, nor did I even know about it, I'm of firm belief that you dive for fishing lures in an unethical and hazardous manner, and consequently should send all of your equipment and found lures to me also.

You can still keep your knitting needles and yarn, and continue that hobby as I have no opinion on it one way or the other, except that it might be a little gay.

Pigs are not game animals they are in (in the USA anyway) varmints that cause a lot of ecological damage. if the pig died good riddance. Yes wild pigs can make great table fare (ask XD Hunter how) but the native coyotes, vultures and crows will be well fed in fact the other piggies might chow down on their ex-friend. Lurediver was hunting fair chase on public land and lady luck did not smile on him it can happen to the best.

Al the best to lure diver next time fortune may smile on him.

I think all of you archery hunters should pick up a rifle instead. All of these wounded animals being lost is making me sick. Sick I tell ya!

Just as soon as you give up running the dogs and pick up a rifle. All the barking is annoying as hell when trying to still hunt

Aah...Touché BDB. You are right though. All that annoying barking does keep the rifle at home, but my lost hog percentage is cut significantly.
