Lake Sonoma Pig Hunt 2011-2012?

Does anyone know if the Archery Pig hunt is going to occur this year?

I haven't seen any information posted yet and the hunt typically starts next month.

I'd be suprised if it did't happen. they're remodeling the visitor center so that may be slowing annoucements. I'm hunting the a25 tag and there's pigs around.

It's getting scarry that they haven't mentioned anything yet. Didn't do the hunt last year. I've really been looking forward to this year.

Here's the 411 on the 2011-2012 hunting season..visitor center is still closed for remodeling so they will be registering hunters at the HQ across the street from the VC and there is hunting this year for archery only at the park (sorry gunners) and the registration fee went up from $10.00 to $30.00 this year....tra

Hello LS Pig Hunters!

TRA thank you for posting that info for me! If any of the hunters would like a copy of the new 2011 - 2012 Lake Sonoma pig hunting packet please feel free to send me an email and I can get that out to you. I just ordered the new passes a few days ago and they should be here soon. When we get the passes in we plan on starting the registration process ASAP. Remember you need a valid driver’s lic, hunting lic and at least one pig tag to register. There is a $30 charge this season. You can pay by credit, check or cash. Because the visitor center is closed we will be registering hunters at HQ across the street from the visitor center. We are asking hunters to register over the phone or by email. Just send us a copy of your info and we will send you a form to read and sign. When we get that form back a staff member will call you for your CC info then mail you your passes. We are trying to make the registration process as simple as possible for all of the LS pig hunters while the visitor center is closed. On a different note, you can now LIKE Lake Sonoma on Facebook, we don’t have the pig hunt info posted on our page yet but I can send you a copy if you like.

Since I live only tem minutes from the lake sonoma dam. Maybe we could do a morning at the private and evening at the lake. Or if you get a room out here fo one property saturday and one sunday. Let me know.

For those of you who messaged me I apologize but I posted incorrect information about our hunt. This season at Lake Sonoma Hunters are required to possess a valid hunting license on their person and have pig tags with them while hunting. You do not have to display your hunting license while hunting like pervious years.
Plus, all of the hunting information is now posted on our website under hunting information on the left side:
www.spn.usace.army.mil/lake_sonoma

Again, if anyone has any questions feel free to ask & I promise to give correct information this time! LOL!

Interesting that we hunters have to pay to use the land around the lake but all the hikers, horse riders, etc. get a free ride.
