Hey all,
Just gathered up all the registration tags form the second half of November and all of December. Here is the breakdown:

Number of self registered hunters: 267
Number of Male pigs taken: 5
Number of Female pigs taken 3

Success rate: 3%

Lots of comments from folks who have been seeing pigs and looks like quite a few people are coming form out of state!
One reported case of poaching (turned out to be a USDA trapper doing his job) but good to know you guys are watching out. THANK YOU!

He fellas and ladie,

I haven't been back to the lake since the end of last years hunt. I almost forgot about this sight. Anyway, I have been trying to find out how to get an update of the hunting dates for 2005. If anyone can help please let me know.

Thank you

Hey Bubba,
The USDA has a trapper/hunter that we contract with to take care of any wild life problems that we may have in the park. This is the guy we call when we have problems with mountain lions, coyotes, or pigs in places where they should not be. Normally this guy traps and shoots the pigs in places where I normally wound not allow hunters to go (an example is the playground area near the park headquarters) As you can imagine, my park manager would not smile kindly on open hunting in a playground.

The USDA guy was working the closed area between buck pasture and Island view campgrounds.
Hope that satisfies your curiosity.
