Lake Sonoma Success Hog for Christmas

Well Guys and Gals, went back to Lake Sonoma and took a boat out this time to an area with no other Hunter and tracked this pig to his bedded area due to the wet conditions... 28 yrds shot and down he went... I have to say this pig was a loner... Dragged straight down to the Boat and went back to the cousins house where we cleaned him out... Thought I hype it up for u die hard Hog hunters out there with this Christmas Hog... Good luck to all and a Merry Christmas with a Happy Great New Year

For those of you with a boat do you launch at the marina or up at yorty creek area?

Trackboss most people launch from the marina and the reason is I belive and recall u can only take and use a small boat and trailer set up to lunch the yorty side because the road is to narrow and tight to haul a big trailer and boat through to get to the yorty launch.........tra

If u are launching a motor boat than it has to be from the Marina... Yorty is only for non motorize watercrafts

Tra thanks for yours and everybodies complements....The temperatures have been very cold and its been raining here and there so its been great for tracking if u like to track them like me... Haven't seen too many pigs like yrs before but I hunt hard and stay out later than most hunters... I cross a fresh track and I just trail it

the roman archer, thewolfman, thanks for the response. I don't have a motor boat, but have considered buying a small one specifically for this purpose. Not quite sure if I want to deal with all that is involved. However, it would be nice to be able to access more remote parts of the lake.

Actually Trackboss, yorty is cartop boats only no trailers, motors are ok I don't think they changed that, but I always launch at the public ramp not the marina, quite the hike to the parking lot but it's cheaper than the marina.

Bingo hunterdoug, u are right it's only car top boats, that's why I wasn't to sure when I made my statement was a little foggy on remembering why but that was the reason it is car top only no trailer.
Here's a couple pics of the yorty marina while hunting from the mountian range above, man what a hike that used to be, I sure miss it though my favorite place to be away from the rat race.......tra
