Sweet stuff. I know lots of guys try to hunt the lake but not many get it done. Way to stay on them buddy. Let me know when u need a tag along. Lol.

Only 1 month before our new baby gets here. I better hunt soon or hang up the boots

Actually Trackboss, yorty is cartop boats only no trailers, motors are ok I don't think they changed that, but I always launch at the public ramp not the marina, quite the hike to the parking lot but it's cheaper than the marina.

I take back what I said about the non-motorize thing... I think u are right Doug... I know that the times I've been there I only saw row boats and a lot of kayaks so I just assumed... My mistake....

Nice work and love to hunt hogs liked you did staying tracks!

To me its the best feeling to be able to track that animal to his bedding and shoot em where he lays.... It's not always successful because I bump more animals than I ever get a chance to see let alone have a shot... But when a tracking to where they bed comes together, it's a rush like no other!!!

Yeh hunting the lake I definitely liked it when it was cold or rainy compared to when it's freeking blistering hot and everything is loud and crunchy with every step.
But I am not one to stay too long in one spot I like to slow step look for some fresh sign and trails to get on, but what I do is stop every few minutes and listen and smell for hogs because if there a group of them u will hear them and smell them too. U have to use all senses just like they do.
A few years ago hunting the yorty side with another jho member we bumped a group of hogs about 8 of them and they were all well over 400 lbs ea. may God be my witness, so there are hogziilas at the lake belive me. It's like right time right place at the lake sometimes...tra

U mean like this guy???..haha... His Tracks were 3 inches wide!!!... Folks, that's a very big pig... I got him on the Cam early this yr but unfortunately it was too crunchy and dry for tracking... The branch u see infront of his head comes to my waist.... Saw him once and he has to be one of the biggest pig I've seen.... Where he is at u need a Boat in which I can't give the location

That's really big but the ones we saw were way bigger, the head from the tip of the nose to the back jawbone alone was at least 2 1/2 feet, they look like cows on little couch legs, bodies where so square and huge probley around 6 in. From the belly too the ground. For along time when I first hunted lake Sonoma pig sightings were far and few between and it did get discouraging but after that day I saw them it changed my outlook about hunting the lake and made my 5 hr. Round trip well worth the effort to hunt the lake for a chance to score a pig of that caliber or just any pig period, un fortunately i had many blunders and blown opportunities but always enjoyed hunting lake Sonoma for wild pigs with a bow, it's a great challenge and awesome public land to hunt, your game cam photo says it all that the lake has trophy hogs for sure, but that's just between me and u......lol......tra

Totally agree what a rush. Found one at Ligget last month and tracked to the brush were it went in and low and behold he as 10 yards in and broke off up into the brush but managed to get a shot off but no blood. Went in after and tracked if for 3 hours up and down the brush patch and ended up jumping it 2 more time but no shot! Was fun though! Went to Ligget again last week and tracked a herd into the brush but this time we waited because it getting to late to go in after them. Sure enough, 9 big hogs come out about 4:40 ish and 8 shots from 4 hunters! All had a little pig fever and ended up missing! I had a few young men with me and were first time hog hunters! LOL! Still was a great time!

I will be there next weekend the 9th and then again th 22nd. Wll look for you. What do your drive? I am in a White Silverado Duramax 4 door. We should get some rain in Jan and I Hope lots. I had a big boar come rushing me in the brush a few years ago and was about 10 yards away and i put a 454 round right above his head and he made a sharp right turn. Yes it was scary too but what a rush! Wow and love it!
