thanks everyone for your replys!

welcome to JHO and our awesome hunting forum ( Robert) muddy-udders! if it was thursday morning it was me. we will have to hook up in the future my friend for some piggie action at Lake Sonoma.

( SCENT CONTROL)> Krisdude, believe me we didnt have to worry about scent control, forgot to mention in my story that while we were on that hillside poised for action the air and breeze was thick and heavy with the smell of wild pigs, like i never smelled it so strong before, the stench was on our clothing solid when we left that area, we were in a hot bedding area for sure. i had the sweet smell of pigs in my nose all night long.

i just want to say that out of the handfull of hunters that i met at L.S. and a couple of them were veteran locals that have been hunting there for years ( one guy since 92') and they were very kind in sharing info with me, and it was a big help in narrowing down some hot spots.

(PIG SIGN)> as far as fresh pig sign at L.S. it is all over the place like everyone says, rooting tracks, bedding, rubs. but what was disturbing to me is in most of those areas there really wasnt any pig crap around which means they aint hanggin out in those areas, thier just hit and run spots, so thats what made me even work harder scouting until i did find some, it was like winning the lottery! and then it wasnt long after that in the area we were hunting and that Kentucks good friend busted out the pigs twice in that same area, i think he is part Catahula, real great guy to hunt with, for sure...................................tra

Spec, unfortunately TRA wasn't the one that got the hog. My buddy was. He's not a JHO member. TRA was just wanting one of those pocket hogs. You know, easy to get back to the truck type thing.

Ahh.. that'll teach me to read the whole thread!

TRA, after some of the hellhole recoveries I've done, I can definitely get behind the idea of shooting those pocket pigs.

Definitely.
I am on grave shift and will be heading up Wed, Thurs, and Fridays this month.
On foot I have only been able to scout the high pressure areas, I am getting real close and know time in the field counts for something. Every time I am out I learn a little more about their pattern up there.

Dang TRA, So close. Keep at it bud. I am still awaiting some victory photos with you in them. Sounds like it is getting close.

Too funny on the pig poop. I was laughing. You better get it out of your backpack though.
