First off, I've done some searching here and found a few guides on Lanai. I didn't see anything in the guide reviews either hence my question.
I'm considering an Axis Deer. I'm looking for some first hand experience with these guides (or others if I'm missing anyone):
Palawai Outfitters - Hunting in Hawaii on the exclusive island of Lanai
Lana'i Hunting Adventures
Gary Onuma (via Registered Hunting Guides — Department of Land and Natural Resources)
My wife and I were lucky enough with win a trip to Lanai. We'll be staying at The Lodge at Koele for 4 nights in late July.
I'd prefer not to bring my own rifle, but I could very easily pack it along if needed. I absolutely want to bring the meat home as my family lives off venison.
I know the hunt will be expensive ($1k) and I'm willing to pay it for the access to the land, the knowledge/experience of the guides and hopefully the meat processing/help with shipping to the mainland.
If you don't wish to post up a bad experience could you contact me privately? I welcome any comments you all may have.
Thanks!!!!
