So I was just wondering how many people drew the highly coveted late season bull tags for liggett? And if so, are you guys getting pumped yet??

Well, I am very excited Michael. It is calling for a 90% chance of rain all of next week. It is going to be a muddy mess!! I can barely sleep and I am not even the one hunting. I can only imagine how you feel. Lets get her done and be back to the family for Christmas eve or your wife (my sister), will have our A**.

Take it from a guy that was stuck all of one morning on the LAST FHL elk hunt, bring a shovel, axe, saw, recovery strap, come-along and swap a bunch of phone #'s with other hunters so they can become "rescue buddies". I was in 4 h and just slid sideways off the road, 4 L didn't even help. The roads turned to Tapioca pudding and the game wardens will not come help. They'll gladly give you the number to the tow truck company who wants $300 (cash, not plastic or check) to even roll out the door.

Oh, and good luck!

We are towing up a wrangler, but the third person we are bringing works for the navy and trains the seabees in Huneme, liggett and roberts. There is a possibility he may be able to check out a humvee if there is any training going on up there. Orientation isn't until Tuesday so we are heading up to Vandenberg on Monday to see if we can get lucky and drop a pig.

Good luck with that: the weather-guessers are running in circles and squawking like chickens--supposed to get up to 7 inches of rain over the next six days. That's gonna turn THESE roads to mashed potatoes too......

Awesome trip. Just got back last night. Mikey dropped a beautiful 5X5 first light yesterday. Got him skinned, quartered and in the truck by noon. Hit the road and we were only 30 minutes late to Christmas eve at my parents in LA. Took us 5 hours to process the meat today. We got about 200 lbs of meat when everything was said and done. Pictures and story to come later. All I can say is it was the best trip to FHL I have ever been apart of. Saw about 15 pigs (2 were +300 lbs), 100's of elk, a couple bobcats and about 50 Black tails.
