Leupold® Expands Popular Olympic Binocular Line
1/16/09
New Compact Models Designed to Fit in a Pocket
BEAVERTON, OREGON - Leupold® has packed full-sized features into a tiny package with the introduction of its newest binocular models, the Olympic Compact Dual Hinge. The binoculars are slightly longer than four inches and weigh less than a pound.
"Whether you hunt from a treestand or climbing up a mountainside, frequently weight and size are factors that cause a binocular to be left in the truck rather than around a hunter's neck," said Mike Slack, Leupold's marketing communications manager. "Our new Olympic Compact Dual Hinge binoculars fit easily into a shirt pocket and weigh only 15 ounces - all without sacrificing optical quality."
The compacts feature fully multi-coated lenses and Super High Reflection (SHR) coated auxiliary prisms, traits typically reserved for much larger binoculars. The lens coatings give the Olympic Compact Dual Hinge a bright, clear image in nearly any lighting condition.
Available as either 8x25mm or 10x25mm, the new models are completely waterproof and filled with bone-dry nitrogen to eliminate internal fogging. Providing further protection from the elements, hunters can choose between armor coatings of either black or Mossy Oak® Treestand®.
The Olympic Compact Dual Hinge binoculars include a case, neck strap, and eyepiece and objective lens covers. The binoculars also feature Leupold's Green Ring™ Limited Lifetime Warranty.
Leupold & Stevens, Inc., the most prominent American-owned and -operated optics company, employs more than 650 people in its state-of-the-art Beaverton, Ore., facility where rugged, dependable, high-performance Golden Ring® sports optics are designed, machined and assembled. Leupold is a fifth-generation, family-owned company whose products are sold worldwide to hunters, wildlife observers, competitive shooters, law enforcement officers and special operations military personnel. The product line includes rifle, handgun and spotting scopes; binoculars; rangefinders; flashlights; mounting systems; and optical tools and accessories.
