This was actually in the southeastern portion of the County, just outside of Rancho Cordova.

I am glad to read about this rescue; this same canal goes right by my house in Wilton and I've seen a few drowned bucks in the stretch of canal near me over the years...two in one day, in fact. The concrete walls are a death trap.
