Stranger things have happened!! I received these photos and the story
from a fellow shed hunter in Wyoming.
This guy received call from a Range Control at CFB Suffield about two bull
elk with locked antlers.By the time they got there, one of the bulls had
already died.
They guessed the bulls had been there at least 24 hrs. and antlers were locked
solid. There was no chance of the live elk to free itself, after careful consideration
this guy sneaked in and cut an antler off dead elk with a bone saw.
This freed the larger bull and he went off across the prairie instead of at him.
The antler that was cut off dead bull remained locked solid with the live bulls antlers
as it ran away.
Imagine walking up on a shed to find it locked solid with a cut-off antler attached!!!
It's hard to ses cut-off antler on live bull, but it's there.
And I thought the picture of the shed was a bad joke. Pretty cool though I bet you that was a hell of a fight.
By the way, what is the spread on that shed, about 80"?
