Looking at New Camera, Input Appreciated

Has anyone used or know of anyone that has had a Panasonic DMC-FZ7K Digital Camera? I am looking at getting one and most reviews I have seen have been good on them. Circuit City has a good buy on them as well as Wolf Camera. With and optical 12X zoom and image stabiliztion, without getting into the SLR's, looks like this may be the way to go for me.

What do you all think?

I dont know anything about that specific camera,but I have always liked the Panasonic FZ cameras for the same reasons you listed (12x, IS, Leica glass)

Well i broke down and purchased it. I am charging the batteries now. Will be nice to have a good camera for a change. Now if we can just get past my photographic disabilities, I will be ready to go! LOL

Hey BigSwad, I just bought that one as well. The reviews were positive and I really like the larger optical zoom. Combined with the image stabilization I look forward to using it - I haven't 'unwrapped' it yet.

Per recommendation, I also picked up a 1 Gig SD memory card for it and extra battery pack. Amazon has/had 1GB SanDisk cards for $15!
