Heading out to near Lake Sonoma on second try at pig hunting.My cousin has a club up that way and invited me for the 16th 17th and 18th I only hunted pigs one time at FHL and had a great hunt but didnt see any pork chops. Maybe this time.

Ijust got back. no pig for me,but had a great time ,met great new friends and was able to help drag one out. Friday afternoon we arived set up cott & soforth , went out to hunt 2 hr befor dark,I was on stand while my cousins son Doug walked some of the canyons below me ,just before shoot time I hear a shot and Doug says on the radio "I just shot a pig"Istart down to help and Doug says on the radio "Oh S..t hes up and going" I wait 5 min and say to Doug Im half way to you ,Doug says wait. Now I wait 15 min its starting to get real dark and Doug calls back and says to meet him up on top at the jeep.We meet and decide to come back in the morning because we have no flash light.We get back to camp and another guy I just met (jery)says he also knocked one down in a bad place, hes going back in the morning also.(New plan) 7 of us go look for Jerys pig . Doug finds it first. Its still alive so Doug takes care of that problem. 1 and a half hours later pig is in jeep ,we go look for Dougs pig we find where he hit it. No blood,we trail it down hill one mile no blood no pig
Doug said he would give any thing to know where he hit the pig and feels very bad about lossing it
we hunted that evening and this morning no more sightings it was very hot, and Im pooped, it was a fun hunt and a good learning exp for me maybe next time
